Illinois High School Softball - Clay City bounces St. Elmo/Brownstown
May 10, 2021: St. Elmo, IL 62458 Clay City Wolves (Clay City, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host St. Elmo/Brownstown Eagles (St. Elmo, IL), 9-3 in a non-league challenge.
The Wolves now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hutsonville/Palestine for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 13. Clay City will face a Tigers squad coming off a 13-0 non-league win over Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 6-0.
With the loss, St. Elmo/Brownstown falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host Oblong (Oblong, IL) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 11. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Oblong won 5-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Dugger Union (Dugger, IN)
