In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting North Newton Spartans softball team scored a tight 6-0 win over the Maconaquah Braves.

The Spartans (13-1) will now prepare for their match against Washington Township (Valparaiso, IN). The Senators enter the non-league contest with a 6-9 record. In their last contest, Washington Township was routed by Kouts (Kouts, IN), 13-6, in a league contest.

The Braves now hold a 3-10 record. They play next when they travel to Winamac for a non-league contest on Saturday, May 10. Maconaquah will face a Warriors squad coming off a 7-4 league win over North Judson-San Pierre (North Judson, IN). The Warriors record now stands at 12-3.
