The Monroe Hornets overwhelmed the host Valley View Spartans softball squad by a count of 10-4 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Hornets meet the Ross Rams (Hamilton, OH) in a Southwestern Buckeye - Southwestern challenge, on Monday, May 12. Monroe will attempt to upgrade on its 14-4 season record. The Rams go into the challenge with a 15-5 record after their 4-0 league win over Edgewood (Trenton, OH).

The Spartans (7-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Oakwood (Dayton, OH). The Lumberjacks go into the Southwestern Buckeye - Buckeye challenge with a 6-15 record. In their last challenge, Oakwood held off Archbishop Alter (Kettering, OH), 5-2, in a non-league challenge.
