Hickory Hornets (Hermitage, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Sharon Tigers (Sharon, PA), 17-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they host Corry for a District 10 Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, May 17.

With the loss, Sharon falls to 0-14 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Wilmington Area (New Wilmington, PA) to battle the Greyhounds in a District 10 Region 2 challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a record of 7-6. Wilmington Area won 8-2 in their recent league challenge against Franklin (Franklin, PA)
