Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Elverado Falcons (Elkville, IL) and the visiting Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL), witnessed Elverado's softball squad tip Pope County by a count of 5-0.

The Falcons now sport a 11-0 record. They play next when they travel to Cobden for a South Egyptian match on Thursday, May 13. Elverado will face a Appleknockers squad coming off a 25-6 non-league loss to Herrin (Herrin, IL). The Appleknockers record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Pope County moves to 3-8 on the season. The Pirates host Dongola (Dongola, IL) to face the Demons in a non-league match on Wednesday, May 12. The Demons go into the match with a record of 1-1. Dongola won 22-0 in their recent league match against Meridian (Mounds, IL)
