Amherst Central Tigers (Amherst, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sweet Home Panthers (Amherst, NY), 11-9 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-13 record. They take the field next when they host Iroquois for a Section 6 Erie County II challenge on Friday, May 12. Amherst Central will face a Chiefs squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Hamburg (Hamburg, NY). The Chiefs record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Sweet Home falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host Orchard Park (Orchard Park, NY) to face the Quakers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. The Quakers enter the challenge with a record of 12-1. Orchard Park won 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Williamsville South (Williamsville, NY)
