May 11, 2024: Mellen, WI 54546 In Saturday's non-league contest, the Mellen Granite Diggers (Mellen, WI) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Prentice Buccaneers (Prentice, WI), by a margin of 20-2.
With the triumph, Mellen moves its record to 9-2 on the year. The Granite Diggers travel to Drummond (Drummond, WI) to play the Lumberjacks in a Northern Lights contest on Tuesday, May 14. The Lumberjacks come into the contest with a record of 2-7. Drummond lost 10-3 in their recent league contest against Hurley (Hurley, WI)
In their next game, the Buccaneers play the South Shore Cardinals (Port Wing, WI) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, May 16. Prentice will attempt to move on its 0-17 season record.
