Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the visiting James River Knights (Buchanan, VA), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Knights now have a 5-10 record. They take the field next when they host Auburn for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 13. James River will confront a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 league win over Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 11-4.
