Northwestern Huskies (West Salem, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Independence Blue Devils (Independence, OH), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Norwayne for a Wayne County challenge on Friday, May 13.

With the loss, Independence falls to 11-5 on the campaign.
