The Solon Comets softball team scored 13 runs and held the visiting Mayfield Wildcats to 1 in the Comets non-league win on Monday.

The Comets now sport a 8-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wadsworth for a Suburban - National battle on Wednesday, May 14. Solon will encounter a Grizzlies team coming off a 10-0 league loss to North Royalton (North Royalton, OH). The Grizzlies record now stands at 5-9.

With the loss, Mayfield moves to 7-12 on the season. The Wildcats host Riverside (Painesville, OH) to encounter the Beavers in a Western Reserve battle on Tuesday, May 13. The Beavers come into the battle with a record of 19-4. Riverside lost 9-8 in their recent non-league game against Aurora (Aurora, OH)
