Illinois High School Softball - Harlem holds off Belvidere North
Harlem Huskies (Machesney Park, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Belvidere North Blue Thunder (Belvidere, IL), 4-2 in a league challenge.
The Huskies now own a 12-0 record. They take the field next when they host Rockford Auburn for a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Monday, May 17. Harlem will battle a Knights squad coming off a 18-2 league loss to Hononegah (Rockton, IL). The Knights record now stands at 3-10.
With the loss, Belvidere North falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Blue thunder host Jefferson (Rockford, IL) to battle the J-Hawks in a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Saturday, May 15. The J-Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-8. Jefferson lost 16-1 in their recent league challenge against Freeport (Freeport, IL)
