Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pirates confront the Eno River Bobcats (Hillsborough, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 18. Perquimans will attempt to better on its 9-4 season record. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a 14-6 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Oxford Prep (Oxford, NC).
