Illinois High School Softball - Shepard nudges Evergreen Park
May 15, 2023: Palos Heights, IL 60463 The crowd at Monday's league match between the Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) and the visiting Evergreen Park Mustangs (Evergreen Park, IL), saw Shepard's softball squad nip Evergreen Park by a count of 7-6.
The Astros now sport a 18-7 record. They take the field next when they host Hillcrest for a South Suburban - Blue match on Tuesday, May 16. Shepard will face a Hawks squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 0-16.
With the loss, Evergreen Park falls to 19-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Argo (Summit, IL) to face the Argonauts in a South Suburban match on Tuesday, May 16. The Argonauts enter the match with a record of 14-9. Argo won 11-0 in their recent league match against Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL)
