The Salem Spartans lacrosse squad (Salem, VA), was nipped 9-8 in Wednesday's league challenge with the visiting Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA)

Coming up next, the Knights meet the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, May 18. Cave Spring will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Terriers enter the challenge with a 4-11 record after their 19-1 non-league loss to Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA).

The Spartans now sport a 7-7 record. They play next when they travel to Glass for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. Salem will meet a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 17-2 league win over Jefferson Forest (Forest, VA). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 10-7.
