In Thursday's non-league game, the host Portage Central Mustangs baseball team scored a close 3-1 victory over the St. Joseph Bears.

The Mustangs (20-3) will now prepare for their game against Jenison (Jenison, MI). The Wildcats enter the non-league game with a 19-6 record. In their last game, Jenison held off Reeths-Puffer (Muskegon, MI), 9-1, in a non-league game.
