Springfield Spartans (Akron, OH) fans left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting Ellet Orangemen (Akron, OH), 8-1 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Springfield advances its record to 5-18 on the season. The Spartans travel to Lake Center Christian (Hartville, OH) to battle the Tiger in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 20. The Tiger come into the match with a record of 21-4. Lake Center Christian won 10-2 in their recent non-league match against Maplewood (Cortland, OH)

The Orangemen now have a 9-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cuyahoga Falls for a non-league match on Saturday, May 17. Ellet will battle a Black Tigers squad coming off a 13-3 non-league loss to Norton (Norton, OH). The Black Tigers record now stands at 4-16.
