The Newman Central Catholic Comets softball squad (Sterling, IL), was routed 16-11 in Saturday's non-league contest with the visiting Somonauk Bobcats (Somonauk, IL)

With the triumph, Somonauk improves its record to 9-13 on the year. The Bobcats host Mendota (Mendota, IL) to face the Trojans in a non-league contest on Monday, May 19. The Trojans enter the contest with a record of 2-18. Mendota lost 11-1 in their recent non-league contest against Sherrard (Sherrard, IL)

The Comets now hold a 9-18 record.
