The Covington Cougars routed the visiting Eastern Montgomery Mustangs softball squad by a final score of 17-0 in Thursday's league battle.

The Cougars (12-9) will now prepare for their battle against Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA). The Fighting Blues go into the Pioneer battle with a 11-6 record. In their last battle, Parry McCluer topped Craig County (New Castle, VA), 8-2, in a league battle.

The Mustangs now possess a 9-13 record. They play next when they travel to Craig County for a Pioneer battle on Monday, May 22. Eastern Montgomery will meet a Rockets squad coming off a 8-2 league loss to Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA). The Rockets record now stands at 7-9.
