New York High School Baseball - Averill Park defeats Schalmont
May 18, 2025: Averill Park, NY 12018 The crowd at Sunday's non-league battle between the Averill Park Warriors (Averill Park, NY) and the visiting Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY), saw Averill Park's baseball team beat Schalmont by a margin of 10-2.
The Warriors (12-8) will now prepare for their battle against Amsterdam (Amsterdam, NY). The Rams enter the non-league battle with a 8-12 record. In their last battle, Amsterdam was overwhelmed by Hudson Falls (Hudson Falls, NY), 6-3, in a league battle.
Next, the Sabres face the Albany Academy for Boys Cadets (Albany, NY) in a Section 2 Colonial battle, on Monday, May 19. Schalmont will attempt to improve on its 7-10 season record. The Cadets enter the battle with a 4-8 record after their 9-1 non-league loss to Coxsackie-Athens (Coxsackie, NY).
