Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Tamarac Bengals (Troy, NY), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Sabres now own a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glens Falls for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 24. Schalmont will battle a Indians squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Greenville (Greenville, NY). The Indians record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Tamarac falls to 12-6 on the campaign.
