Iowa High School Softball - Akron-Westfield gets by Sioux Center
May 21, 2024: Akron, IA 51001 Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA) and the visiting Sioux Center Warriors (Sioux Center, IA), witnessed Akron-Westfield's softball squad tip Sioux Center by a count of 3-2.
The Westerners now sport a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Gehlen Catholic for a War Eagle match on Wednesday, May 22. Akron-Westfield will face a Jays squad coming off a 12-0 league win over West Sioux (Hawarden, IA). The Jays record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, Sioux Center moves to 0-1 on the season. The Warriors travel to Unity Christian (Orange City, IA) to face the Knights in a non-league match on Thursday, May 23. The Knights go into the match with a record of 1-0. Unity Christian won 14-2 in their recent non-league match against West Sioux (Hawarden, IA)
