Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Gobblers now own a 16-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rustburg for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 24. Broadway will battle a Red Devils squad coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Brookville (Lynchburg, VA). The Red Devils record now stands at 14-5.

With the loss, Alleghany falls to 13-9 on the campaign.
