Maine High School Softball - Erskine Academy nudges Maine Central Institute
May 22, 2024: South China, ME 04358 Erskine Academy Eagles (South China, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Maine Central Institute Huskies (Pittsfield, ME), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Eagles now own a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Medomak Valley for a Class B South challenge on Friday, May 24. Erskine Academy will face a Panthers squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Leavitt (Turner, ME). The Panthers record now stands at 12-2.
With the loss, Maine Central Institute falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Huskies host Mount View (Thorndike, ME) to face the Mustangs in a Class C North challenge on Saturday, May 25. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 4-12. Mount View won 13-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Winslow (Winslow, ME)
