Iowa High School Softball - Newman Catholic bounces Forest City
May 23, 2024: Forest City, IA 50436 The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Newman Catholic Knights (Mason City, IA) and the host Forest City Indians (Forest City, IA), saw Newman Catholic's softball squad nip Forest City by a count of 9-2.
The Knights now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Nashua-Plainfield for a Top of Iowa-East match on Friday, May 24. Newman Catholic will face a Huskies squad coming off a 14-0 non-league loss to Hampton-Dumont/CAL (Hampton, IA). The Huskies record now stands at 0-3.
With the loss, Forest City falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Indians host North Union (Armstrong, IA) to face the Warriors in a Top of Iowa-West match on Friday, May 24. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 2-0. North Union won 12-0 in their recent non-league match against Emmetsburg (Emmetsburg, IA)
