The Somers Spartans (Somers, CT) baseball got by the host Ellington Knights (Ellington, CT), 2-1 in Friday's league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they host Granby Memorial for a North Central Connecticut challenge on Monday, May 26. Somers will clash with a Bears team coming off a 8-4 league win over Bolton (Bolton, CT). The Bears record now stands at 6-5.

With the defeat, Ellington drops to 15-6 on the year. The Knights host East Windsor (East Windsor, CT) to clash with the Panthers in a North Central Connecticut challenge on Saturday, May 24.
