Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Newton Eagles (Newton, IL), 10-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Columbia upgrades its record to 29-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL) to battle the Griffins in a non-league test on Saturday, May 27. The Griffins come into the test with a record of 37-1. Father McGivney Catholic won 4-1 in their recent non-league test against Teutopolis (Teutopolis, IL)

With the defeat, Newton falls to 22-12 on the season.
