The Meridian Mustangs the visiting Caroline Cavaliers softball squad by a final score of 4-2 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Mustangs (12-8) will now prepare for their battle against Skyline (Front Royal, VA). The Hawks go into the Northwestern battle with a 16-6 record. In their last battle, Skyline nudged William Monroe (Stanardsville, VA), 10-4, in a non-league battle.

The Cavaliers now possess a 8-10 record.
