Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) and the host Covington Cougars (Covington, VA), witnessed Grayson County's softball squad tip Covington by a count of 10-8.

The Blue Devils now sport a 12-13 record. They play next when they travel to Fort Chiswell for a non-league match on Monday, May 29. Grayson County will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 12-2 non-league win over Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 17-5.

With the loss, Covington moves to 13-10 on the season.
