Late Score Costs Bronchos Against McCutcheon
Bronchos lost the lead late in a 6-4 defeat to McCutcheon on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with McCutcheon batting in the top of the seventh when Jared Stewart singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
McCutcheon opened up scoring in the first inning, when Keaton Crum singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Bronchos evened things up at two in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jackson Stewart induced Caleb Koeppen to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored.
Stewart was the winning pitcher for McCutcheon. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out eight.
Owen Linder took the loss for Bronchos. The righty surrendered four runs on six hits over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Charlie Ensign led Bronchos with two hits in three at bats.
