Thomaston Bears (Thomaston, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Somers Spartans (Somers, CT), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Bears now own a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shepaug Valley for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 31. Thomaston will face a Spartans squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Terryville (Terryville, CT). The Spartans record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Somers falls to 9-9 on the campaign.
