May 31, 2025: Troy Mills, IA 52344 Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars (Sumner, IA) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host North Linn Lynx (Troy Mills, IA), 8-2 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Sumner-Fredericksburg improves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Cougars host Denver (Denver, IA) to face the Cyclones in a non-league game on Tuesday, June 3. The Cyclones enter the game with a record of 1-0. Denver won 15-2 in their recent non-league game against Marquette (Bellevue, IA)
The Lynx now hold a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to East Buchanan for a Tri-Rivers - West game on Monday, June 2. North Linn will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 11-3 league loss to Starmont (Arlington, IA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 3-2.
