Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 6-5 in a league test.

With the win, Freedom upgrades its record to 2-9 on the season. The Patriots travel to McDowell (Marion, NC) to battle the Titans in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, June 2. The Titans come into the test with a record of 10-1. McDowell won 12-2 in their recent non-league test against Burns (Lawndale, NC)

With the defeat, Watauga falls to 6-5 on the season. The Pioneers host Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to battle the Granite Bears in a non-league test on Friday, June 4. The Granite Bears come into the test with a record of 3-7. Mount Airy lost 7-4 in their recent league test against Bishop McGuinness (Kernersville, NC)
