June 1, 2024: Winthrop, IA 50682 In Saturday's non-league contest, the Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA) softball team overwhelmed the host East Buchanan Buccaneers (Winthrop, IA), by a margin of 9-1.
With the triumph, Wapsie Valley moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Warriors host Union (La Porte City, IA) to play the Knights in a North Iowa Cedar - East contest on Monday, June 3. The Knights come into the contest with a record of 2-4. Union lost 12-2 in their recent league contest against Jesup (Jesup, IA)
In their next game, the Buccaneers play the Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings (Edgewood, IA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, June 3. East Buchanan will attempt to move on its 3-4 season record.
