June 7, 2025: Madrid, IA 50156 Madrid Tigers (Madrid, IA) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks (Colfax, IA), 4-2 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Madrid improves its record to 2-7 on the year. The Tigers travel to Ogden (Ogden, IA) to play the Bulldogs in a West Central game on Monday, June 9. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 6-4.
The Tigerhawks now hold a 0-7 record. They play next when they host Belle Plaine for a South Iowa Cedar game on Monday, June 9. Colfax-Mingo will play a Plainsmen squad coming off a 19-2 league loss to Lynnville-Sully (Sully, IA). The Plainsmen record now stands at 0-10.
