June 7, 2025: Newton, IA 50208 In Saturday's non-league test, the Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Twin Cedars Sabers (Bussey, IA), by a tally of 12-2.
Next, the Cardinals meet the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs (Dallas Center, IA) in a Little Hawkeye test, on Monday, June 9. Newton will attempt to advance on its 5-7 season record. The Mustangs go into the test with a 13-0 record after their 9-2 non-league win over Urbandale (Urbandale, IA).
The Sabers (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Moravia (Moravia, IA). The Mohawks go into the non-league test with a 1-10 record. In their last test, Moravia was routed by Wayne (Corydon, IA), 9-0, in a non-league test.
