New York High School Baseball - St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute can't hold off Chaminade
June 10, 2022: Mineola, NY 11501 In Friday's non-league game, the host Chaminade Flyers baseball team scored a tight 1-0 victory over the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders.
The Flyers (20-1) will now prepare for their game against Iona Prep (New Rochelle, NY). The Gaels go into the non-league game with a 23-6 record. In their last game, Iona Prep tipped Monsignor Farrell (Staten Island, NY), 3-2, in a non-league game.
Game Summary
St. Joe's qualified for the first ever state Catholic championship and ran into a good team in Chaminade. A great game played by both teams resulted in a 1-0 8 inning win for Chaminade. Eric Swiencicki threw the first 7 innings yielding 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.
