June 10, 2025: Corning, IA 50841 The crowd at Tuesday's league battle between the Southwest Valley (Corning, IA) and the visiting Central Decatur Cardinals (Leon, IA), saw Southwest Valley's baseball team gain a win over Central Decatur by a count of 14-1.
The now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Fremont-Mills for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 11. Southwest Valley will clash with a Knights team coming off a 15-8 league loss to East Mills (Malvern, IA). The Knights record now stands at 2-5.
With the defeat, Central Decatur drops to 2-8 on the year. The Cardinals host East Union (Afton, IA) to clash with the Eagles in a Pride of Iowa challenge on Thursday, June 12. The Eagles go into the challenge with a record of 5-4. East Union lost 20-16 in their recent league challenge against Lenox (Lenox, IA)
