Iowa High School Baseball - West Monona nudged by Cherokee Washington
June 13, 2024: Cherokee, IA 51012 The Cherokee Washington Braves nudged the visiting West Monona Spartans baseball team by a tally of 9-8 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Braves now hold a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host Estherville Lincoln Central for a Lakes bout on Friday, June 14. Cherokee Washington will face a Midgets team coming off a 4-1 league win over Storm Lake (Storm Lake, IA). The Midgets record now stands at 13-4.
Next, the Spartans face the Whiting Warriors (Whiting, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, June 14. West Monona will attempt to advance on its 2-12 season record. The Warriors enter the bout with a 0-8 record after their 28-1 non-league loss to Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute (Mapleton, IA).
