June 29, 2024: Van Meter, IA 50261 Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA), 8-1 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Van Meter improves its record to 32-1 on the year. The Bulldogs host Missouri Valley (Missouri Valley, IA) to play the Big Reds in a non-league game on Monday, July 1. The Big Reds enter the game with a record of 20-6. Missouri Valley won 11-1 in their recent non-league game against Fremont-Mills (Tabor, IA)
The Spartans now hold a 27-6 record. They play next when they travel to Woodbine for a non-league game on Monday, July 1. West Monona will play a Tigers squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Coon Rapids-Bayard (Coon Rapids, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 17-2.
