Iowa High School Softball - West Liberty holds off Charles City
July 1, 2023: West Liberty, IA 52776 Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) and the visiting Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA), witnessed West Liberty's softball squad hold off Charles City by a final score of 9-7.
The Comets (18-12) will now prepare for their battle against West Burlington (West Burlington, IA). The Falcons go into the non-league battle with a 21-11 record. In their last battle, West Burlington held off Fairfield (Fairfield, IA), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
The Comets now possess a 17-15 record. They play next when they travel to Decorah-North Winneshiek for a non-league battle on Monday, July 3. Charles City will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Mason City (Mason City, IA). The Vikings record now stands at 16-12.
