July 1, 2024: Newell, IA 50568 The Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA) softball routed the visiting Algona Bulldogs (Algona, IA), 6-1 in Monday's non-league outing.
The Mustangs now sport a 24-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Audubon for a non-league outing on Tuesday, July 2. Newell-Fonda will encounter a Wheelers team coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Martensdale-St. Mary's (Martensdale, IA). The Wheelers record now stands at 23-4.
With the loss, Algona moves to 10-15 on the season. The Bulldogs host Clear Lake (Clear Lake, IA) to encounter the Lions in a North Central outing on Tuesday, July 2. The Lions come into the outing with a record of 12-13. Clear Lake lost 9-4 in their recent league outing against St. Edmond (Fort Dodge, IA)
