In Friday's non-league contest, the Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA), by a margin of 8-3.

With the triumph, Pickens moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Dragons host Gilmer (Ellijay, GA) to play the Bobcats in a non-league contest on Tuesday, August 10. The Bobcats come into the contest with a record of 0-1. Gilmer lost 13-3 in their recent non-league contest against Sprayberry (Marietta, GA)
