Newton County Academy Generals (Decatur, MS) supporters left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Meridian HomeSchool FLYERS (Meridian, MS), 23-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Newton County Academy improves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Generals travel to Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS) to play the Cougars in a non-league game on Saturday, August 9. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 9-1. Simpson Academy won 13-0 in their recent non-league game against Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS)

The FLYERS now hold a 1-3 record. They play next when they host Sylva Bay Academy for a non-league game on Monday, August 11. Meridian HomeSchool will play a Saints squad coming off a 7-6 non-league loss to Meridian HomeSchool (Meridian, MS). The Saints record now stands at 0-1.
