The North Surry Greyhounds volleyball squad (Mount Airy, NC), was edged 2-1 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC)

With the win, Alleghany improves its record to 1-1 on the season. The Trojans travel to North Stokes (Danbury, NC) to meet the Vikings in a non-league contest on Tuesday, August 19. The Vikings enter the contest with a record of 0-0.
