August 16, 2025: Charleston, SC 29492 Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC) and the host Philip Simmons Iron Horses (Charleston, SC), saw Grimsley's volleyball squad nudge Philip Simmons by a score of 2-1.
With the win, Grimsley improves its record to 4-0 on the season. The Whirlies host Cedar Ridge (Hillsborough, NC) to encounter the Fighting Red Wolves in a non-league battle on Monday, August 18. The Fighting Red Wolves go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Cedar Ridge won 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against Southeast Alamance (Haw River, NC)
Next, the Iron Horses meet the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, August 26. Philip Simmons will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Fighting Green Hornets enter the contest with a 0-1 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Wren (Piedmont, SC).
