In Thursday's non-league match, the host West Cabarrus Wolverines football squad scored a close 13-6 victory over the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans.

In their next game, the Wolverines clash with the Robinson Bulldogs (Concord, NC) in a non-league match, on Thursday, August 24. West Cabarrus will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 41-2 non-league loss to Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC).

The Trojans (0-1) will now prepare for their match against A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, NC). The Wonders enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, A.L. Brown held off West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC), 28-0, in a non-league match.
