August 17, 2023: Lakewood, CA 90713 The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Huntington Beach Oilers (Huntington Beach, CA) and the host Lakewood Lancers (Lakewood, CA), saw Huntington Beach's volleyball squad beat Lakewood by a tally of 3-1.
With the win, Huntington Beach upgrades its record to 4-2 on the year. The Oilers travel to Yorba Linda (Yorba Linda, CA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 22. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Yorba Linda lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Northwood (Irvine, CA)
The Lancers now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to La Canada for a non-league bout on Saturday, August 19. Lakewood will play a Spartans squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Marymount (Los Angeles, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 2-2.
