In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Chatham Central Bears volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Vandalia Christian Vikings.

The Bears (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Grace Christian (Sanford, NC). The Crusaders come into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Grace Christian was beaten by John Paul II Catholic (Greenville, NC), 3-1, in a non-league match.

With the loss, Vandalia Christian drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Vikings host Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC) to battle the Trojans in a non-league match on Friday, August 19.
