In Friday's non-league game, the Hillside Hornets (Durham, NC) football team knocked off the host Panther Creek Catamounts (Cary, NC), by a score of 20-12.

The Hornets (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Southern Durham (Durham, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Southern Durham was knocked off by Scotland (Laurinburg, NC), 32-29, in a non-league game.

The Catamounts now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Leesville Road for a non-league game on Friday, August 25. Panther Creek will battle a Pride team coming off a 42-14 non-league win over Wakefield (Raleigh, NC). The Pride record now stands at 1-0.
