In Friday's non-league game, the Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) football team smashed the host Legacy Academy Silverbacks (Albuquerque, NM), by a final score of 52-0.

The Buffaloes (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Mancos (Mancos, CO). The Bluejays come into the non-league game with a 0-0 record.

The Silverbacks now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Laguna Acoma for a non-league game on Thursday, August 24. Legacy Academy will battle a Hawks team coming off a 50-0 non-league loss to Hatch Valley (Hatch, NM). The Hawks record now stands at 0-1.
